Doug Ford is a Canadian businessman and politician who has served as the 26th and current premier of Ontario since June 2018 and leader of the Progressive Conservative (PC) Party since March 2018.
Doug Holyday asked Deco to print stickers and signs for his Etobicoke mayoral campaign in 1994, and it was Ford’s first foray into politics.
Ford decided to canvass for Holyday on his own time and effort. In 1995 and 1999, he worked with his father as a PC MPP candidate. In 2000, 2003, and 2006, he oversaw his brother Rob’s council campaigns, as well as Rob’s successful 2010 mayoral campaign.
Ford was elected to the Toronto City Council for Ward 2 on October 25, 2010. His brother, Rob, was elected mayor of Toronto, and he replaced him in office.
Doug Ford made a public announcement after his election that he will donate his $100,000 annual salary to non-profits.
A former councilor, Ford voted in favor of eliminating the automobile registration tax, privatizing waste collection west of Yonge Street, and declaring the Toronto Transit Commission an essential service.
Does Doug Ford Have a Wife?
Yes, Canadian businessman and politician Doug Ford has a wife named Karla Ford.
Who is Karla Ford?
In spite of the Fords’ long-term marital commitment, the couple hasn’t known each other for all of that time. According to the Toronto Star, Doug Ford’s wife initially met him at a pool party given by his parents.
Even though Karla confessed she was afraid of him at first, the two have been married for more than 30 years. It seems that Doug’s family-oriented nature won her parents over, as well.
At a hockey game, the two became engaged, and they continue to have weekly date evenings. Currently, they have four daughters.
