Don Young is an American politician and educator who served as the U.S. representative for Alaska’s at-large congressional district from 1973 until his death.
Born on June 9, 1933, in Meridian, California, United States of America, Don was said to have been the longest-serving member of Congress.
He was as well the last remaining member who had been in office since the Nixon Administration.
Young on December 5, 2017, got the chance to act as the 45th dean of the House of Representatives after the resignation of John Conyers.
Young died in a concourse at Los Angeles International Airport on March 18, 2022, aged 88, while travelling to Alaska.
