American professional golfer Dustin Johnson goes by the full name Dustin Hunter Johnson. In the United States of America, he was born on June 22, 1984, in Columbia, South Carolina. He started golfing in college.
He studied Sports Management at Coastal Carolina University, where he played collegiate golf. He participated in the Walker Cup and Palmer Cup winning amateur teams in 2007 and winning the Monroe Invitational and the Northeast Amateur. He defeated China’s Li Haotong by two strokes to win the first-ever Saudi International on the European Tour in February 2019.
Johnson rose to the top of the golf world rankings in February 2017 and held that position for 64 straight weeks, the fifth longest stint at the top. He regained the top spot in 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021, remaining there for a total of more than 130 weeks.
He won the Saudi International twice in February 2021, giving him nine victories overall on the European Tour. He competed for the United States in the 2021 Ryder Cup at Whistling Straits in Kohler, Wisconsin, in September of that year. Dustin went 5-0-0 and the American team won 19-9.
He began the 2022 golf season at the Farmers Insurance Open with a T25. He tied for eighth in The Players Championship after missing the cut at the Genesis Invitational. At the 2022 WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play, he placed fourth, and at the Master’s Tournament, he placed twelfth. Before leaving the PGA Tour in June 2022 to join LIV Golf, he was a member of that organization.
