Dustin Hunter Johnson is the full name of the American professional golfer Dustin Johnson. He was born in Columbia, South Carolina on June 22, 1984, in the United States of America. In college, he started playing golf.
He played collegiate golf while attending Coastal Carolina University to study sports management. In 2007, he was a member of the amateur teams that won the Walker Cup and Palmer Cup, as well as the Monroe Invitational and the Northeast Amateur. In February 2019, he overcame Li Haotong of China by two strokes to win the first Saudi International on the European Tour.
Johnson became the number one golf player in the world in February 2017 and remained there for 64 straight weeks, the fifth-longest stretch at the top. In 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021, he reclaimed the top rank and held it for a total of more than 130 weeks.
His two victories at the Saudi International in February 2021 gave him a total of nine victories on the European Tour. In September of that year, he competed for the United States in the Ryder Cup at Whistling Straits in Kohler, Wisconsin. The American team won 19-9 thanks to Dustin’s 5-0-0 performance.
He had a T25 to start the 2022 golf season at the Farmers Insurance Open. After failing to cut the Genesis Invitational, he finished tied for sixth in The Players Championship. He finished fourth at the 2022 WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play and twelfth at the Master’s Tournament. He was a member of the organization before joining LIV Golf in June 2022 after leaving the PGA Tour.
