Dustin Hunter Johnson is the full name of American professional golfer Dustin Johnson. He was created on June 22, 1984, in Columbia, South Carolina, USA. In college, he first took up golf.
He played collegiate golf while attending Coastal Carolina University to study sports management. He was an amateur member of the 2007 Walker Cup, Palmer Cup, Monroe Invitational, and Northeast Amateur champion teams. In February 2019, he won the first Saudi International on the European Tour by two strokes against China’s Li Haotong.
In February 2017, Johnson stormed to the top of the golf rankings, where he remained for 64 straight weeks, the fifth-longest streak. In 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021, he regained the top rank, keeping it for a total of more than 130 weeks.
After his two victories at the Saudi International in February 2021, he had a total of nine victories on the European Tour. In September of that year, Whistling Straits in Kohler, Wisconsin, hosted the Ryder Cup, when he represented the United States. Dustin’s 5-0-0 record was a major factor in the American team’s 19-9 victory.
He has a T25 to start the Farmers Insurance Open in 2022. After missing the cut at the Genesis Invitational, he finished tied for sixth in The Players Championship. He finished fourth at the 2022 WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play and tenth at the Master’s Tournament, respectively. He was a part of the group before leaving the PGA Tour in June 2022 and joining LIV Golf.
