Kazakh tennis player Elena Andreyevna Rybakina was born in Moscow on June 17, 1999. She is the first player from Kazakhstan to ever enter the top 15 in the WTA rankings, coming in at No. 12.

She is now the top-ranked female singles player in Kazakhstan. On the WTA Tour, Rybakina has participated in eight finals, including three at the WTA 500 level, in which she has twice triumphed.

Rybakina achieved the height of her junior career at the age of 17, finishing third with the highest overall rating of her career. She advanced to the semifinals of two Junior Grand Slams prior to winning a Grade-A championship at the Trofeo Bonfiglio in 2017.

Rybakina made history in June 2018 when she became the first Russian woman to rank in the top 200 worldwide.

She didn’t have access to a personal coach as a junior or as a professional athlete, and she didn’t start training with a travelling coach until early in 2019.

After her first successful run on the WTA Tour in the middle of 2019, she earned a WTA championship and a ranking inside the top 100.

Rybakina’s breakout season in 2020 saw five finals, including four in her first five competitions. Rybakina’s height of 1.84 meters allowed her to generate a solid serve as well as powerful forehand and backhand strokes.

She has excellent mobility and a fantastic shot because of her height.
