Elvis Augusto Andrus Torres is a Venezuelan-American professional baseball shortstop who currently plays for Major League Baseball’s Oakland Athletics.
Torres was born in the United States on August 26, 1988. (MLB). He began his Major League Baseball career with the Texas Rangers, where he spent the first 12 years of his career.
Baseball America ranked him as the second-best prospect in the Atlanta Braves organization before the start of the 2007 season.
Andrus was able to clinch the starting shortstop position for the Texas Rangers in 2009 at the age of twenty. He has been selected to the All-Star squad on two occasions.
Andrus was born in the Venezuelan city of Maracay, the son of Emilio and Elvia Andrus. Emilio Andrus, a university professor who died when Elvis was seven years old, was his father of Elvis.
