He received honors from the Faculty of Physical Education at the Russian State Pedagogical Institute. In 1956, Yulgushov began playing for several FCs, including Torpedo, SKVO, and Rostselmash.

He was the president of the coaching council of FC Rostov. His wife and children were said to have survived him.
