Eric Steven Weddle is an American former professional football player who was a free safety for three different teams in the National Football League. He was named to the Pro Bowl six times and was honored as an All-Pro five times. He won a Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Rams during the 2021 season.
Weddle was born in Fontana, California. He experienced childhood in Alta Loma, California, and went to neighborhood Alta Loma High School. At Alta Loma High, he lettered in football, ball, and baseball. In football, he was a three-time all-association determination and a double-cross All-CIF choice.
Weddle played school football for the Utah Utes, where he was an agreement All-American. He was drafted by the San Diego Chargers in the second round of the 2007 NFL Draft.
Weddle likewise played for the Baltimore Ravens from 2016 to 2018 and for the Rams in 2019 and 2021. After at first resigning following the 2019 season, he emerged from retirement two seasons later for the end of the season games, assisting the Rams with winning their second-at any point Super Bowl.
