For the National Football League’s Atlanta Falcons, Erik Harris plays free safety in American football. He stands 1.88 meters tall and weighs 100 kilograms. He played football while he was a student at New Oxford High School. At Pennsylvania Western University, he also spent four seasons playing collegiate football for the California Vulcans.
With 231 defensive tackles, he completed his collegiate career. He was named to the first team of the 2010 Penn State Athletic Conference (PSAC). In 2011, he was chosen for the second team All-PSAC. On April 11, 2013, Harris was acquired by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. For Hamilton, he participated in 45 games while recording 79 defensive tackles and 27 special teams tackles.
He had three interceptions and a touchdown catch for the offense. His reserve/future deal with the New Orleans Saints was signed in February 2016. The Saints let him go in September 2017. On January 1, 2021, he became operational. He committed to the Atlanta Falcons in March 2021 on a one-year deal. He went on season-ending injured reserve after tearing his pectoral muscle in Week 14. He started 12 games and finished with 12 starts, 64 tackles, and 8 passes defended. He returned to the Falcons in March 2022 and signed a one-year deal.
