Erik Donald Swanson is a professional baseball pitcher from the United States who now works for the Seattle Mariners of Major League Baseball. Swanson was born on September 4, 1993.
He made his MLB debut in 2019. Swanson went to high school in Cincinnati, Ohio, at Mariemont High School, where he played baseball in the same league as Andrew Benintendi, who went to Madeira High School.
After that, he continued his baseball career by playing for Wabash Valley College and Iowa Western Community College. During the eighth round of the 2014 Major League Baseball Draft, the Texas Rangers picked Swanson.
In 2014, Swanson made his first appearance in a professional game with the Spokane Indians, and he remained with the team for the entirety of that season.
On August 1, 2016, Swanson was one of three players sent to the New York Yankees in exchange for Carlos Beltrán. The other two players were Dillon Tate and Nick Green.
Between the two teams, he appeared in 24 games, making 17 starts, and posted a combined 6–5 record with a 3.46 earned run average.
