Eugene Melnyk was a Canadian businessman, philanthropist, owner, governor, and chairman of the National Hockey League (NHL)’s Ottawa Senators and AHL’s Belleville Senators.
Melnyk established Biovail Corporation, a specialty drug organization. During his experience as executive and CEO of Biovail, incomes developed from $19 million in 1995 to $1.067 billion in 2006.
One of Biovail’s systems was to search for drugs with lapsed licenses, then rethink them with the organization’s restrictive advancements.
One model was delivering drugs that had controlled discharge including that let patients take the medication once every day rather than a few times.
He resigned as Biovail Corporation’s director in 2007. The organization was gained by Valeant Pharmaceuticals in 2010 and is currently Bausch Health.
Melnyk purchased a controlling stake in the Canadian beauty line Fusion Brands Inc. The deal was estimated to have been worth $85 million U.S. according to several analysts.

Eugene Melnyk was hospitalized for end-stage liver failure and had a liver transplant in May 2015 after a public appeal for a live liver donor found an anonymous donor.
He died on March 28, 2022, due to an undisclosed illness at the age of 62.
