Geoff Blum is an American former professional baseball infielder in Major League Baseball who now serves as the TV color analyst for the Houston Astros.
He has played for baseball teams like the Montreal Expos, Houston Astros, Tampa Bay Devil Rays, San Diego Padres, Chicago White Sox, and Arizona Diamondbacks.
He is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, and played for the California Golden Bears baseball team. He studied sociology at the University of California.
After his studies, he was chosen in the seventh round of the 1994 amateur draft by the Montreal Expos and spent the winter of 1995 in the Australian Baseball League with the Hunter Eagles.
He played for the Montreal Expos for three years and later joined Houston Astros in an MLB trade acquisition. He was traded to the Astro in exchange for Brandon Backe.
After his term with the Astros, he joined the Tampa Bay Devil Rays and he batted only .215 for the Devil Rays, with a .266 OBP.
