In the French Yvelines town of Maisons-Laffitte, Ghislaine Maxwell was born in 1961.Maxwell, a French native, was raised in Oxford. She attended Oxford’s Balliol College throughout the 1980s, and as a result, she became well-known in London’s social scene.

Maxwell continued to work for her father, Robert Maxwell, when he passed away in 1991, moving to New York City where she continued to live as a socialite and began dating Epstein.

Maxwell was arrested on July 2, 2020, and federal authorities in the United States charged her with luring children and trafficking underage girls for sex because of her connections to Epstein.

The judge denied her bail owing to her flight risk because of her “totally opaque” finances, skill at evading capture, and the fact that France does not extradite its citizens.

On December 29, 2021, she was found guilty on five of the six counts, including one for trafficking in child sex. For two counts of perjury connected to Epstein’s exploitation of young girls, she will stand trial once more in court.

Is Ghislaine Maxwell Married?

Many believe Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell were married because of the widely reported crimes the two of them committed together, however they were not.

The American tech CEO Scott Borgerson, who is 16 years her junior and connected to the Trump administration, is said to have married the former British socialite in 2016.

According to Maxwell’s brother Ian, the family was unaware of her marriage but was not shocked either. Borgerson continues to be the man who is thought to be her partner despite his denials.

Tech entrepreneur Borgerson retired from his position as CEO of CargoMetrics, his marine innovation business, in October 2020. He started the shipping data analytics business in 2010 but apparently resigned due to questions about his romance with Maxwell.
