Greg Van Roten, a football guard, competes for the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League. Van Roten joined the Baldwin Bombers’ youth football program when he was 11 years old. He attended Chaminade High School in Mineola, New York, from 2005 to 2008. He played collegiate football for the Penn Quakers of the University of Pennsylvania. Van Roten was an Ivy League All-Conference tackle at Pennsylvania from 2008 to 2012.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Economics with a Marketing Concentration from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. While a student at Penn, Van Roten was a member of the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity and the Student Athlete Advisory Committee.
The Green Bay Packers hired Van Roten in July 2012. He participated in 10 games with the Packers between 2012 and 2013. He was let go by the Packers in February 2014. He signed a contract with the Seattle Seahawks on February 14, 2014, but they later dismissed him on August 27. In May 2015, he agreed to a deal with the Toronto Argonauts of the CFL. In February 2017 he agreed to a contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars, then in May he was let go.
In July 2017, he signed a contract with the Carolina Panthers, and in April 2020, he agreed to a three-year contract with the New York Jets. He was fired by the Jets in May 2022. He signed a one-year contract with the Buffalo Bills in June.
