Leki Fotu is an American football nose tackle for the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Utah and was drafted by the Cardinals in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
Fotu attended Herriman High School, where he participated in high school rugby as well as high school football, where he played defensive end and occasionally tight end. During his senior year, his team’s performance earned them the 5A state championship in Utah.
On September 20, 2015, Fotu announced his intention to play college football for the Utah Utes. He picked the Utes over USC, Brigham Young, and Oklahoma State.
After Fotu’s second year playing for the Utes, the coaching staff discussed switching his position from defensive end to offensive tackle. However, Fotu ultimately decided to go to defensive tackle and has since taken over the starting position there.
After completing his junior year, Fotu was honored by being selected for the first team all-Pac-12 Conference.
ESPN selected Fotu as a preseason All-American before he began his final year of college basketball.
During the course of the season, Fotu was awarded the title of Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week after producing a sack of 13 yards in a game that was played versus Cal.
The Associated Press recognized him as a member of the second team of midseason All-Americans.
