Tanner Paul Tully is a professional baseball pitcher in the Cleveland Guardians organization. In 2022, Tully made his Major League Baseball debut with the Guardians.
Tully was selected by the Cleveland Indians in the 26th round of the 2016 Major League Baseball draft.
Tully made his professional debut with the Low-A Mahoning Valley Scrappers, posting a 1.17 ERA in 13 appearances.
Tully appeared for four different Cleveland affiliates in 2017: the Single-A Lake County Captains, the High-A Lynchburg Hillcats, the Double-A Akron RubberDucks, and the Triple-A Columbus Clippers.
Tully went 6-10 with a 3.69 ERA in 25 outings (15 starts) between the four organizations. He returned to Lynchburg the next season, going 6-11 with a 4.47 ERA and 109 strikeouts in 26 appearances.
Tully pitched in 26 starts for Akron and Columbus in 2019, going 9-12 with a 4.44 ERA and 89 strikeouts in 144.0 innings. Tully did not appear in a game in 2020 since the minor league season was canceled due to the COVID-19 epidemic.
During the 2021 season, Tully played for Akron and Columbus, posting a 6-6 record and 3.50 ERA with 97 strikeouts in 26 outings (18 of them starts).
Tully was named to the 40-man roster and promoted to the main leagues for the first time as a COVID-19 replacement player on April 20, 2022.
