At age 36, The former American Football defensive end, and outside linebacker, Darryl Tapp is 6ft 0 in tall and weighs 270 lbs. He was born on September 13, 1984, in Portsmouth, Virginia. He schooled in Deep Creek, Chesapeake, Virginia, and had his college education at the University of Virginia.
In High School, Darryl played with the Deep Creek as a defense and offense in 2000. He recorded 22 career sacks and helped the team to a 34-4 record in his three varsity seasons. His accomplishment for Hokies led to his induction into the Virginia Tech Sports Hall of Fame in 2018.
He started his professional career with the Seattle Seahawks as a defensive end rotation. He was drafted by the Seahawks in the second round with 63 overall of the 2006 NFL Draft.
He was traded by the Seahawks to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for Chris Clemons and signed another three-year contract with the Eagles after passing his physical on March 18, 2010.
On March 18, 2013, He moved to Washington Redskins with another one-year deal signed with the team. Tapp was waived, later was signed by Detroit Lions on March 13, 2014, and was resigned to another one-year contract.
After the two years spent playing with the lions, He signed a contract with the New Orleans Saints on July 6, 2017, and was released on September 5, 2017. He finally ended his playing career with Tampa Bay Buccaneers after he had been released from his contract.
Darryl began his Coaching career with his college Football team, Virginia Tech as a Co-Defensive Line coach and later transferred to San Francisco 49ers as an assistant defensive line coach on February 11, 2021.
