Ian Thorpe Ex-Boyfriend Ryan Channing Cause Of Death
The former fiancé of Australian swimmer and LGBTQIA+ role model Ian Thorpe, Ryan Channing has died overseas. It’s been reported that Ryan Channing died in Bali after struggling with health issues.
Channing, a Perth-based skincare entrepreneur, died on May 8 after being admitted to the hospital earlier this week. Earlier this year, the 32-year-old had a negative experience with COVID-19.
A mirror photo of Channing making the peace sign while wearing a mask and a hoodie was posted to his Instagram account on March 10 from St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney.
Channing came out as gay a year before Thorpe began seeing him in 2015. In the LGBTQIA+ community, the pair is regarded as a role models for their work in promoting marriage equality.
They had a four-year romance that ended in 2019. Thorpe has been silent on social media in the wake of the loss of his longtime companion.
The Blaq Group Skincare was founded by Channing. There are three brands under its umbrella: Flight Mode, Blaq, and Generation Skin, all established in Australia.
When Channing visited Japan in 2016, his website states he was inspired by activated charcoal. Friends of the deceased beauty entrepreneur are said to be inconsolable.
