The most recent addition to the Blue Jays family is outfielder Bradley Zimmer. On April 7th, the Cleveland Guardians traded relief pitcher Anthony Castro to the Jays for Zimmer.
The Jays’ team has great synergy and enjoys playing with one another. Zimmer found himself in the ideal circumstances in a city like Toronto, but we must ask ourselves how beneficial he can be to the Blue Jays.
The Major Leagues have not been kind to 29-year-old Zimmer’s Major League career. He played in Cleveland for five seasons and has a 33.3 percent career strikeout percentage.
In 99 games with Cleveland last season, he only hit eight home runs, had 35 RBI, and batted.227. In 2016 and 2017, Zimmer was ranked 31 and 62 on Baseball America’s Top 100 Prospects, respectively. He was regarded as a “five-tool player.”
Is Bradley Zimmer Good?

Zimmer is young and is still in the prime of his career, so turning things around will be a good challenge for him. If he improves his game and addresses his weakness, he can still save his career in Toronto.
Zimmer needs help from the hitting coach to improve his plate discipline, cut down on his strikeouts, and stop chasing pitches. As a left-handed power hitter off the bench, he can help the Jays out or seize the moment if one of their star players gets hurt.
