Michael Gerard Hagerty was an American actor best known for his performances on Friends as a building supervisor and on HBO’s Lucky Louie as the manager of a muffler shop. Mike was born on May 10, 1954, and died just one week later, on May 5, 2022.
Bridget Everett, who plays a character in HBO’s Somebody Somewhere, revealed his death on Instagram on Friday. “With tremendous grief, the family of Michael G. Hagerty confirmed his death yesterday in Los Angeles.”
“As a beloved character actor, his love of Chicago, as well as his family, were the cornerstones of his life,” she wrote. There was no mention of the cause of death.
Hagerty plays Everett’s character Sam’s father in the HBO comedy, which was renewed for a second season earlier this year. He is known for his big mustache, Chicagoan accent, and kind demeanor.
The reason for Mike Hagerty’s death has not yet been established. Although the manner in which he died has not yet been revealed, some of his loved ones are pouring out their condolences on social media.
