Jack Cochrane plays linebacker in the National Football League for the Kansas City Chiefs. He measures 1.9 meters tall and 107 kg. At the University of South Dakota, he participated in collegiate football for the South Dakota Coyotes football team. He participated in the final seven games of the 2017 campaign as a freshman while also playing linebacker and on special teams.
In that time, he made 11 tackles, including 2.5 for losses. In 2018, he was one of the 10 Coyotes who started all 11 games, earning CoSIDA Academic All-District recognition. He recorded two pass breakups, one forced fumble, one recovery, and second-most tackles on the team.
In 2019, he was the team’s captain and one of 53 athletes selected for the FCS Athletic Directors Association Academic All-Star Team. Two interceptions, two forced turnovers, and two fumble recoveries put him in front of the pack. During the seasons of 2020 and 2021, he was one of 15 Coyotes to start every game.
With 28 stops, he eventually rose to fourth on the squad in tackles. A throw was also broken up, and he twice hurried the quarterback. As an undrafted free agent in May 2022, Cochrane agreed to a contract with the Kansas City Chiefs. He was fired from the practice squad on August 30, 2022. On September 13, 2022, he was added to the Chiefs’ list of current players.
