Jack Hunt is the first and only son of Jeremy and Lucia Hunt. Her dad has always kept the family out of the public eye as they rarely make public appearances. Nicholas Hunt and Meriel Eve Givan are his grandparents from his father’s side.
Meet Nicholas Hunt and Meriel Eve Givan
Admiral Sir Nicholas John Streynsham Hunt was one of the highest-ranking officers in the Royal Navy. He served as the Fleet’s Commander-in-Chief from 1985 until 1987.
Hunt was the younger son of Brigadier John Montgomerie Hunt of the 5th Battalion, 2nd Punjab Regiment, Indian Army, and his wife Elizabeth, who was the daughter of Walter Baldwyn Yates. Hunt was born on November 7th, 1930 in Hawarden, which is located in the county of Flintshire.
Following his graduation, he received a commission in the Royal Navy and was eventually advanced to the rank of lieutenant on July 31, 1952.
From 1959 to 1962, he worked as Princess Marina’s assistant private secretary at Kent Palace.
Meriel Eve Givan, whose father was Major Henry C. Givan of the Isle of Wight and formerly of Rangoon, became his wife in 1966.
Meriel Eve was an incredibly proud mother who had witnessed her son’s meteoric climb to power in the political sphere.
After a courageous fight against cancer, Lady Meriel passed away in the comfort of her own home in January 2022, at the advanced age of 84 years old.
Hunt revealed that “every member of his family” had been diagnosed with advanced forms of cancer and that he himself had recovered from “a tiny one” in June of 2022.
