Jack Nicklaus is an American retired professional golfer and golf course designer. He is widely considered to be one of the greatest golfers of all time. He won 117 professional tournaments in his career.

While Nicklaus won the 1959 and 1961 US Amateur, he finished second in the 1960 US Open to Arnold Palmer by two strokes. At the end of 1961, Nicklaus became a professional golfer at the age of 21.
A three-shot victory against Arnold Palmer in an 18-hole playoff at the 1962 US Open sparked a fierce rivalry between two of the game’s greatest players.
As a 26-year-old, Jack Nicklaus became the youngest player to win all four of golf’s major championships when he won the Masters Tournament and the Open Championship in 1966. In 1970, he won his second Open Championship.
