A professional American football team, the Jacksonville Jaguars are based in Jacksonville, Florida. The Jaguars are a member team of the American Football Conference’s (AFC) South division and participate in the National Football League (NFL).
At TIAA Bank Field, the team plays their home games. The Jaguars were an expansion franchise that was established in 1995 alongside the Carolina Panthers. Until their 2002 realignment to the AFC South, they played in the AFC Central.
Shahid Khan acquired the team from its first main owner Wayne Weaver in 2012 and now owns it. By making the playoffs in four of their first five seasons, the Jaguars had a significant impact on the NFL from the start.
They won two division championships, appeared in two AFC Championship Games, and made four consecutive playoff trips between their second and fifth seasons.
