Jacob Capra spent his final year of college football at San Diego State University playing with his brother. Jake Hanson, who is now the starting center for the Packers, was Capra’s teammate during his first three seasons at Oregon.
After receiving his degree, he decided to transfer to San Diego State for the 2019 season, which was the same year that his younger brother Joey was playing his freshman year as a redshirt.
During that first season, the senior Capra started four games at left tackle and two games at right tackle. He also played in all 16 games. In the year 2020, he established himself as the left guard.
In order to earn any all-Mountain West Conference accolades, Pro Football Focus reports that he didn’t let anyone sack him and only allowed two pressures on the quarterback.
The Capra family lived together in a two-bedroom apartment, and when they weren’t concentrated on football or their studies, they enjoyed activities such as boogie boarding and snorkeling.
Capra measured 6-foot-5 1/8 inches tall, 300 pounds, and 33 1/4 inches in his arms at his pro day. He finished the 40-yard dash in 5.29 seconds and performed 27 repetitions on the bench press with 225 pounds.
