Jake Matthews is a veteran of the NFL. The offensive tackle for the Atlanta Falcons of the NFL has been with the team for over nine seasons. Matthews participated in the 2014 NFL combine and was selected by the Falcons with the sixth overall pick.

In addition to receiving 2009 High School All-American honors from USA Today, Parade, and SuperPrep, Matthews was invited to participate in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in 2010 and played in the game.
According to Rivals.com, he was ranked as the seventh best offensive lineman prospect for the class of 2010, and he received four stars for his recruitment.
After considering offers from Oklahoma, Alabama, Arkansas, Oregon, Texas, Texas Tech, Southern California, and Stanford, he ultimately decided to enroll at Texas A&M.
