Jake Walsh, real name Jacob Dalton Walsh is an American born professional baseball player who plays as a pitcher for the St Louis Cardinals baseball team. He is one of the Cardinal’s minor league players and has been with them since 2017.
Jake was born and raised in the USA on July 20, 1995, to American parents. He was a student at Melbourne High School where he pitched for the school’s baseball team. After he graduated from high school, he played college baseball for Jacksonville State University, Eastern Florida State College and also at Florida Southern College.
After college, he was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 23rd round of the 2017 MLB draft. He signed with the Cardinals after which he began his professional career playing with the Johnson City Cardinals of the Rookie-level Appalachian League.
The Cardinals assigned him to play with the Peoria Chiefs of the Class A Midwest League and the Palm Beach Cardinals of the Class A-Advanced Florida State League for the 2018 minor league season. Jake played in only two games for the whole of the 2019 season as he got injured.
The 2020 minor league season suffered cancellation as the season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Cardinals chose him to play in the Arizona Fall League for the Glendale Desert Dogs after the 2021 season.
The Cardinals selected his contract and added him to their 40-man roster in November 2021.
