Jalen Mayfield is an offensive tackle with the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League and he was born on May 23, 2000. The Falcons selected him in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft after he played college football for Michigan.
Mayfield was a four-year starter at offensive tackle and defensive end for the football team at Catholic Central High School, where he was raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
In February of his junior year, Mayfield made a commitment to play college football for Minnesota, but three months later he switched to Michigan. The Atlanta Falcons selected Mayfield in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft (68th overall).
On June 15, 2021, he committed to a four-year rookie deal with Atlanta. When Mayfield entered his first NFL training camp, Kaleb McGary and him were vying for the right tackle position with the Falcons.
But after Josh Andrews and Matt Gono, the offensive guards suffered injuries, Mayfield began practicing with the first team at left guard.
Mayfield was placed on injured reserve on September 1st, 2022.
