James Wade was rushed to a German hospital on Sunday after becoming sick during a European darts championship quarter-final; his wife Samantha has said he is healing in hospital but is not yet able to go home.
World number five darts player James Wade is recuperating in hospital after becoming unwell during a European match on Sunday evening.
Wade was forced to quit before his semi-final in Leverkusen after winning his quarter-final and was rushed to hospital on the recommendation of a German paramedic team after becoming “very sick” during the event.
Although he is recuperating in the hospital after having a racing heart, high blood pressure, nausea, and dizziness, he will remain for additional monitoring and treatment and will not be able to travel home for the time being.
Samantha, who is now at home with their kid, was immensely appreciative of the treatment offered by the German hospital.
She stated: “It was quite distressing on Sunday night and into Monday, and it’s terrible to think about James alone thereafter he’s been so sick.
“We obviously want him home as soon as possible, but the medical team has been fantastic with James, and he is really appreciative of their kindness and care. We’re accepting their advice on when he may safely return home.
