Born on September 12, 1997, wide receiver Jared Bernhardt now plays for the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League in the United States of American football (NFL).
After playing quarterback for one season at Ferris State University in college football, he went on to play collegiate lacrosse in Maryland, where he was named the Tewaaraton Award winner as the top player in the nation. Prior to that, he played college football at Ferris State.
Bernhardt was born in Longwood, Florida, but he spent his childhood in Lake Brantley. While there, he attended Lake Brantley High School and participated in both football and lacrosse.
As a senior in high school, he played quarterback for his school’s triple-option offence in football. During that season, he rushed for 1,457 yards and 12 touchdowns while also passing for 751 yards and six touchdowns.
In Lacrosse, he played the midfield position and was named to the All-American team. He also made a commitment to play collegiate football at the University of Maryland.
Bernhardt played for the University of Maryland’s men’s lacrosse team for a total of five seasons throughout his collegiate career.
In his lone year of collegiate football, he was a member of the Ferris State Bulldogs and played the quarterback position. As a result of the Bulldogs’ perfect season and victory in the 2021 NCAA Division II Football Championship Game, Bernhardt was recognized as the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year.
He led a Patriots offence that averaged 486 yards per game as a senior, rushing for 1,457 yards and 12 touchdowns and throwing for 751 yards and six more in 11 games. The Orlando Sentinel selected him as a senior All-Central Florida football selection.
With over 400 points in his prep midfielder career at Lake Brantley, Bernhardt also had an illustrious lacrosse career. In his final season, he totalled 56 goals and 59 assists, earning him spots on the Under Armour All-American and USA Today All-USA First Teams.
When he was chosen as the U-19 World Championships Most Valuable Player and named to the All-World Team in 2016, the three-time All-Central Florida pick led Team USA to the U-19 World Championship.
