Adell was brought up to the big leagues by the Angels on August 4, 2020. That evening, he made his major league debut and went 1-for-4 against the Seattle Mariners.

Adell started the 2021 season at Salt Lake City of the triple-A level. On August 2, he was recalled to the major leagues. The next day, he made his season debut against the Texas Rangers, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, three RBIs, and a stolen base.

Adell hit his first grand slam of the season on August 17 against the Detroit Tigers. At bat all season long was Adell. 35 games, batting.246/.295/.408, with 4 home runs and 26 RBI.
