Joseph Andrew Ross professionally called Joe Ross is an American born baseball player. He plays as a pitcher for the Washington Nationals baseball team. Joe is 1.93 m tall and weighs 100 kg.
He was born and raised in Berkeley California on May 21, 1993. Joe had his high school education and amateur baseball career at Bishop O’Dowd High School in California. After high school, he had plans of going to play college baseball at the University of California, Los Angeles.
His plans didn’t come through as the San Diego Padres selected him in the first round of the 2011 MLB draft. He signed with the Padres and was assigned to play for the Arizona League Padres to make his professional debut.
At the end of the season, Baseball Prospectus ranked him as the 95th best prospect in baseball. The Padres assigned him to play for the Fort Wayne TinCaps of the Class-A Midwest League in 2012. The Washington Nationals purchased his contract from the Padres in December 2014.
The Nationals promoted him to the major leagues on June 6, 2015, and he made his MLB debut that day for the team as a starting pitcher.
