Australian featherweight fighter Johnny Famechon is thought to have passed away on August 4, 2022, according to reports. He was the third person to be given legend status in 2012, and he was the third member of the Fame Moderns category to be inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2003. On March 28, 1945, Johnny was born in Paris, France.
He was a French native who had grown up with good energy for a potential boxer at the time. He had a career record of 56 victories and a promising defensive strength at the beginning of his career. In 1985, Famechon was honored with a spot in the Sport Australia Hall of Fame. In 1997, he was admitted into the Los Angeles chapter of the World Boxing Hall of Fame.
His first major win was known to be over Les Dunn to become Victorian Featherweight champion in the year 1964 as well as being the Commonwealth featherweight champion in the year 1967 after he was known to have defeated the Scot John O’Brian. He was acknowledged as becoming Lineal in the year 1969. After defeating Jose Legre of Cuba on points, the WBC crowned a new featherweight champion on January 21.
