Jon Rahm is a Spanish professional golfer. He was the number one golfer in the World Amateur Golf Ranking for a record 60 weeks and later became world number 1 in the Official World Golf Ranking, first achieving that rank after winning the Memorial Tournament in July 2020.

As a result of a miscarriage on November 10, 1994, Rahm was born in Barrika, Spain’s Basque Country. he earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from Arizona State University on a golf scholarship.

Only Phil Mickelson’s 16 collegiate victories were more impressive at the University of Georgia, where he amassed an impressive 11 victories in college golf tournaments.



Rahm was the first player to win the Ben Hogan Award on two separate occasions, in 2015 and 2016. In addition, he won the Eisenhower Trophy in 2014 as the most outstanding individual.

During his junior year of high school, he played in the 2015 Phoenix Open as an amateur and tied for fifth place, three shots behind the victor. Rahm became the 28th player to hold the top spot in the World Amateur Golf Ranking on April 1st, 2015.

At one point, he held the position for 35 more consecutive weeks before relinquishing it for the second time. The most time he spent at the top of the rankings is 60 weeks.

He advanced to the 2015 U.S. Amateur quarterfinals while ranked No. 1 in the world before losing to Derek Bard.
