One of the PGA Tour’s professional golfers and a former world number one in the Official World Golf Ranking is Jordan Spieth, full name Jordan Alexander Spieth. He was born in Dallas, Texas, in the United States on July 27, 1993.
Golf instruction for Jordan was provided by Brookhaven Country Club. He won the U.S. Junior Amateur twice, at Trump National Bedminster in 2009 and Gold Mountain in 2011, joining Tiger Woods as the competition’s only two-time champions. After Brandt Snedeker pulled out of the U.S. Open in 2012, he was given a spot as an alternate.
He played in his first Masters in April 2013, sharing the lead after 54 holes with Bubba Watson. He was chosen for the 2014 Ryder Cup team after winning the PGA Championship, making him the nation’s youngest player in the competition since Horton Smith did it in 1929. Jordan missed the cut in the Farmers Insurance Open to start the year in 2021.
His victory at the RBC Heritage, held at the Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, in April 2022, gave him his 13th PGA Tour triumph. Spieth started the day three strokes behind Harold Varner III, the leader after the third round, but after shooting a fourth round 66, he stormed to the top of the leaderboard.
