Josh Bell, born Joshua Evan Bell is a professional baseball player known to play in the position of a first baseman for the Washington Nationals baseball team. Josh had his amateur baseball career at Jesuit College Preparatory School of Dallas in Dallas, Texas where he was named to the USA Today All-USA high school baseball team and the Gatorade/ESPN Rise Texas Player of the Year.
The Pittsburgh Pirates drafted him in the second round of the 2011 draft. Josh was paid an amount of $5 million as a signing bonus. He started his professional career in 2012 after he was assigned to play with the West Virginia Power of the Class A South Atlantic League.
He played again for the West Virginia Power during the 2013 minor league season and spent 2014 with the Bradenton Marauders of the Class A-Advanced Florida State League (FSL). The Pirates called him up to the major leagues in July 2016 and he made his MLB debut that same day for the Pirates.
The Washington Nationals purchased his contract from the Pittsburgh Pirates in December 2020. During the 2020 season, Josh signed a $10 million contract with the Nationals.
