Josh Hader is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Milwaukee Brewers of Major League Baseball (MLB). He was born on April 7, 1994, in Millersville, Maryland, and Tom Hader and Patricia Hader are his parents.
Old Mill High School was his alma mater. Hader began playing baseball when he was in elementary school. Hader made his Major League Baseball debut in 2017.
When Hader was about to enroll at Anne Arundel Community College, the Baltimore Orioles selected him for the MLB draft.
Hader was a member of the SAL All-Star team. Hader won the California League Pitcher of the Year award in 2014.
At the 2015 Pan American Games, Hader was a member of the United States National Baseball Team. Hader was a member of the All-Star Futures Game in 2016.
In June 2017, Hader was promoted to the major leagues and made his MLB debut on June 9th. Hader became the first pitcher in history to record eight strikeouts in a game that lasted less than three innings.
Josh Hader was drawn into controversy and chastised for a string of tweets from mid-2011 to late-2012 that contained racist, homophobic, and sexist sentiments.
Friends and family of Hader who were invited to the game had to wear a blank jersey when the tweets were uncovered during the 2018 MLB All-Star game.
Hader offered an official apology and also deactivated his Twitter account.
