Joshua-Douglas James Naylor is a Major League Baseball (MLB) first baseman and outfielder for the Cleveland Guardians of Canada.
He was previously with the San Diego Padres. Naylor was drafted 12th overall in the 2015 MLB draft and made his MLB debut in 2019 with the Padres. During the 2020 season, he was sent to Cleveland.
St. Joan of Arc Catholic Secondary School, located in Mississauga, Ontario, was Naylor’s alma mater, and he went on to play baseball in the Premier Baseball League of Ontario with the Ontario Blue Jays (PBLO).
During the MLB All-Star Week that took place at Target Field in 2014, he was one of the ten high school players who were invited to participate in the MLB Junior Select Home Run Derby.
According to Perfect Game’s rankings, he was one of the top 50 prospects eligible for the 2015 Major League Baseball Draft. He will play collegiate baseball for the Texas Tech Red Raiders, which is the team that he has committed to play for at Texas Tech University.
Chris and Jenice Naylor brought their family into the world in Mississauga, which is located in the province of Ontario, Canada. Naylor is the oldest of his three brothers, Noah and Miles.
