On January 12, 1998, Justin Layne was born. He plays cornerback for the New York Giants in the National Football League. He took part in Michigan State’s collegiate football program.
Layne attended Benedictine High School in Cleveland, Ohio. There, Layne faced off against current NFL linebacker Jerome Baker. He played cornerback and wide receiver in high school.

He made the decision to enlist in football at Michigan State University. Layne started his first season at Michigan State in 2016 as a wide receiver but was converted to a cornerback before the fifth game of the year.
Layne was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft (83rd overall). He only played in 10 games in 2019 and finished the year with just 3 tackles. The Steelers placed Layne on the reserve/COVID-19 list on July 29, 2020. He entered service on August 11, 2020. He took part in all 16 of the Steelers’ games, making a total of 22 tackles.
On August 30, 2022, the Steelers released him.
