Kara Ford is the third daughter of Doug and Karla Ford.
Kara Ford is an Emmy and Grammy-winning pianist, composer, and conductor who has worked on shows such as NBC’s The Good Place, Fox’s Almost Family, Amazon’s Homecoming, and Nickelodeon’s Tiny Christmas.
Kara is a member of Joy Music House’s production team and conducts the Huntington Beach Concert Band, for which she received the Association of Concert Bands’ Music for Life Award.
She’s also on the board of the Game Audio Network Guild Scholar Alumni.
Kara holds a master’s degree in Screen Scoring from the USC Thornton School of Music and a bachelor’s degree in Film Scoring from Berklee College of Music in Boston.
Thomas Newman, Danny Elfman, and the band Coldplay have all influenced her creative, varied style.
She appreciates writing uplifting soundtracks that depict the unwavering will of women and underrepresented populations, as well as the fascinating realm of animation.
Kara can be found wakeboarding or stretched on a beach with her head in a book when she isn’t writing music, conducting the HBCB, or playing the piano at her church.
She was inspired to write a fiction novel during the 2020 shutdown by current events, which can be accessed under the “Book Release” category.
