Kurt Happy Zouma is a French professional footballer. He plays for Premier League club West Ham United and the France national team. The 27-year-old began his career at Saint-Étienne, winning the Coupe de la Ligue in 2013.
Zouma began his career at Saint-Étienne, making his professional debut aged 16, and going on to win the Coupe de la Ligue with the club in 2013. He has represented France at several youth levels, up to the under-21 level.
Zouma joined West Ham United signing a four-year contract which is worth £29.8 million on August 28, 2021. He made his West Ham debut on October 16 in the Europa League in a 2-0 win over Dinamo Zagreb. Zouma scored his first goal for West Ham in a winning game over Liverpool with a 3-2 victory.
Zouma has been in an animal abuse case where he has admitted to being guilty. The 27-year-old footballer was seen kicking, hitting, and slapping one of his cats in his home. The video was uploaded by Yoan Zouma who is Kurt’s younger brother as a joke on his Snapchat account.
Kurt has however escaped jail time and has been sentenced to 180 hours of community service and has been made to pay a fine of £250,000 by his team West Ham as damages for the backlash the video has received towards the team.
