Landon Collins plays football professionally and is a strong safety for the New York Giants of the National Football League. At 1.83 m tall and 99 kg, he is quite tall. He excelled in both football and track while attending Dutchtown High School. He was an All-American defensive back for football. He attended at the University of Alabama after finishing high school and played NCAA football for the Alabama Crimson Tide.
As a junior, he started all fourteen of his games and was first on the team with 98 tackles. After his junior season, he made the choice to enter the 2015 NFL Draft after being persuaded by the NFL Draft Advisory Board’s evaluation of him as a potential first-round pick.
The New York Giants made Collins their second-round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. He agreed to a six-year, $84 million deal with the Washington Redskins on March 13, 2019, making him an unrestricted free agent for the 2019 campaign. He recorded a team-high 12 tackles against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 2, but the Redskins still lost 31-21. He had a team-high 12 tackles in week 6’s game against the Miami Dolphins.
In recognition of his work, he was selected the NFC defensive player of the week. Collins signed with the Giants’ practice squad on October 6, 2022, and he later joined them again. For the Week 7 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, he was promoted from the practice squad during the same month.
