The Las Vegas Raiders are a professional American football team headquartered in the Las Vegas metropolitan region. The Raiders compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a registered member of the league’s American Football Conference (AFC) West division.

The team plays its home games at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada, and is located in Henderson, Nevada.

The Raiders were founded on January 30, 1960, and were initially based in Oakland, California. They played their first regular-season game as a charter member of the American Football League on September 11, 1960. With the merger of the AFL and the NFL in 1970, they went to the NFL.

From the 1982 season to the 1994 season, the club relocated to Los Angeles before returning to Oakland for the start of the 1995 season. The Raiders’ application to relocate to Las Vegas was virtually unanimously approved by NFL team owners on March 27, 2017. The Raiders relocated to Las Vegas on January 22, 2020, over three years later.

Marcus Allen, the former Heisman Trophy winner and Pro Football Hall of Famer has that title. Allen was a five-time Pro Bowler, two-time All-Pro, Super Bowl champion, and 1985 NFL MVP during his 11 years with the Silver and Black.

Allen had 2,090 carries for 8,545 yards and 79 touchdowns with the Raiders. Allen had 446 grabs for 4,258 yards and 18 touchdowns as a pass receiver. In 2003, he would be enshrined in Canton. Allen ran for 12,243 yards and 123 touchdowns in 16 NFL seasons with the Raiders and the Chiefs, splitting his time between the two teams.
