Leah Marlene is from Normal, Illinois, and is a twenty-year-old composer, performer, and producer. She was born in Canada and migrated to Illinois with her family when she was a child.
Derry Grehan, Leah’s father, is a songwriter and main guitarist for the Canadian band Honeymoon Suite, therefore she grew up in a house filled with music and instruments. He taught her how to play the guitar and piano and shared his love of music with her. She started singing and creating her own songs when she was very little and hasn’t stopped since!
Leah has been playing live in Illinois, Nashville, and Canada since she was ten years old. Leah traveled to Nashville for songwriting, recording, and performance throughout most of her high school years. She has returned to the Midwest to concentrate on her second record after spending two years at Belmont University in Nashville studying songwriting.
Leah has a distinct, appealing voice with a songwriting style that incorporates pop, soul, funk, jazz, rock, Americana, and other influences. She’s been making original music since she was 13 years old, and her latest track, “Noise,” is the first and only single from her upcoming album. On March 4, 2022, the entire album will be released! She also collaborates and creates music with a variety of different musicians.
Leah is a people lover, and her biggest wish is for her music to meet you just where you are and help you feel whatever you need to feel at the time.
