The Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League are well-known for having linebacker Leighton Vander Esch on their roster. At 1.93 m tall and 116 kg, he is also quite tall. He participated in the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis at the end of February and finished all of the positional drills.
Scouts were delighted with his overall performance at the combine after he tied for second place in the vertical leap and the short shuttle among all linebackers. Vander Esch was taken by the Dallas Cowboys in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft, as the third linebacker overall. In May 2018, the Cowboys inked Vander Esch to a four-year, fully guaranteed contract worth $11.84 million, including a $6.69 million signing bonus.
