The 122nd season of the Oakland Athletics, all as members of the American League, will begin in 2022. Since this is their 55th season in Oakland, they will have played more seasons there than they did in Philadelphia (54 seasons).

The new seven-year contracts with ESPN, Fox, and TBS will begin this year. As part of the agreement, Fox will carry more games in 2021 than it did previously, both during the regular season on the main Fox broadcast network and on FS1, as well as the All-Star Game on Fox. In contrast to prior years, no non-exclusive games will be shown during the week on ESPN, except for the national opening night games and the 25 exclusive Sunday Night Baseball broadcasts. Tuesday night games will replace Sunday afternoon games on TBS.
