Lorenzo Lemuel Carter is a linebacker with the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League. Carter was selected by the New York Giants in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft and spent four seasons with them.
Carter participated in the NFL Scouting Combine and finished the most of the drills, although he decided against participating in the bench press, the short shuttle, and the three-cone drill.
Carter finished in first place among all edge rushers in the broad jump competition, in second place in the 40-yard sprint competition, and in third place among players in his position group in the vertical leap competition.
Carter took part in Georgia’s pro day on March 21, 2018, but he decided to stand on the numbers he had earned at the combine and instead simply participated in positional exercises.
He visited the San Francisco 49ers, Denver Broncos, and Minnesota Vikings in advance of the draft and worked out privately with each of those teams.
Following the conclusion of the pre-draft process, NFL draft analysts and scouts anticipated that Carter would be selected in the second round of the selection.
DraftScout.com had him ranked as the second best outside linebacker, and Scouts Inc. had him ranked as the fifth best defensive end.
