Who Is The Greatest Tight End In Los Angeles Ram’s History?

Jeff Robinson is the greatest tight end in the history of the Los Angeles Rams.

Robinson was signed as an unrestricted free agent by the St. Louis Rams in 1997. In 1997, he appeared in 16 games and finished fourth on the team with six tackles and 12 special teams tackles. He has five tackles and four quarterback pressures in 1998, as well as 11 special teams tackles.

He served as the team’s long snapper, assisting punter Rick Tuten in finishing fourth in the NFC with a 44.2 yard-per-punt average. Robinson scored his first NFL touchdown against the Carolina Panthers on a four-yard pass from quarterback Steve Bono.

Despite switching from defensive end to tight end after demonstrating ability at the position on the scout squad and continuing in the role of long snapper in 1999, Robinson maintained his seven-year streak of participating in every game. He played tight end in nine games, catching six passes for 76 yards and two scores.

In the Divisional Playoff Game against the Minnesota Vikings, he scored his first postseason touchdown on a 13-yard throw en route to winning Super Bowl XXXIV. In 2000, he started two games at tight end and appeared in all 16 games. He had five receptions for 52 yards and five special teams tackle at the end of the season.

Kicker Jeff Wilkins dominated the league and tied the league record for field goal % in a season, making all 17 attempts, thanks to his assistance at long snapper. He started a career-high nine games in 2001, racking up 11 receptions for 108 yards and a touchdown while also contributing five special teams tackles as the team’s long snapper.
