International free agent Rengifo joined the Seattle Mariners in March 2014.
With the Venezuelan Summer League Mariners, he made his professional debut that year, playing 64 games and batting.198 with one home run and 20 RBIs.
He began 2017 with the Clinton LumberKings after spending 2015 and 2016 with the Mariners of the Arizona League. In 2015, he played for the Dominican Summer League Mariners and hit.336/.405/.465 with two home runs, 35 RBIs, and 19 stolen bases in 60 games.
Following the 2018 campaign, the Angels included Rengifo on their 40-man roster.
He started off in 2019 by joining Salt Lake.
He was called up to the main league roster on April 25 and played his first major league game that night. He played in 108 games, hitting.238 with seven home runs and 33 RBIs.
Early in 2020, Rengifo came close to being exchanged for Joc Pederson and Ross Stripling by the Los Angeles Dodgers, but the deal never materialized.
Rengifo started the season as the second baseman for the Angels, but he underperformed and was demoted. In 33 games, he finished with a.156 average.
